Early starts aren’t for everyone — but first light often tells you more than a full day on the bank.
This challenge is about getting there before the water wakes up, watching how the lake comes alive, and making your moves while it’s still quiet.
No pressure to catch.
Just be there, switched on, and observant.
Fish a session that starts at or before first light.
Focus on:
How the lake looks at dawn
Any early shows or movement
Bird activity
Patrol routes
Where fish are holding
Let the water guide your decisions.
Log one or more of the following:
What time you arrived
What you noticed at first light
Where fish were moving
How you chose your spots
What you learned
Quick Summary or Full Tactical — your call.
First light often gives away more than the rest of the day combined.
You see natural movement.
You avoid the crowds.
You make calmer, clearer decisions.
And when it comes together, it feels earned.
